Ensuring Justice for Everyone
Help to Smile (HTS) is committed to promoting equal access to justice by providing legal assistance to individuals and communities who cannot afford legal services. Through our Legal Aid & Access to Justice Programme, HTS works to protect the rights of vulnerable and marginalized populations by offering legal advice, representation, legal awareness, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services.
The programme aims to remove financial and social barriers that prevent people from accessing justice while encouraging the peaceful resolution of disputes through mediation and other ADR mechanisms whenever appropriate.
Programme Objectives
- Provide free or low-cost legal advice and assistance to vulnerable individuals.
- Facilitate legal representation for deserving cases through a network of volunteer lawyers and legal professionals.
- Increase public awareness of constitutional, civil, family, labour, and consumer rights.
- Promote mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as accessible and cost-effective methods of resolving disputes.
- Strengthen access to justice for women, children, persons with disabilities, and low-income communities.
